Re: Another project bike.
Well it is insured and tagged. I finally got the wiring for the lights fixed. I spent over a hr and half rebuilding the headlight harness. It was all hacked up. I threw on some el cheapo ebay mirrors I had laying around. I took it out for a ride tonight. The tires are junk, the suspension needs tuning, and accelerates great but stalls taking off from a stop and spudders real bad at cruising speeds. Looks like I'll have to pull the carbs and have a look see.

Re: Another project bike.
I know.
I figured I better get the bike sorted out before I have it painted so I don't scratch it pulling the fairings off several times just fix little things. ![]()

Re: Another project bike.
It'd probably be cheaper to buy some pink leathers and an airbrushed unicorn helmet. Get a tinted sheild... who's gonna know?

![]() I pulled the carbs and found a few minor issues but easy to fix. First off one of the carb boots was loose. I drilled out the plugs covering the pilot mixture screws to check what they were set to. I know that the they are normally on the lean side from the factory to meet emission standards. The factory service manual says 2 1/2 turns out. Carbs 1-4 were originally set to 2, 2 3/4, 1 1/2, and 1. I set them all to 2 3/8 turns. I found some paper like debris in the all of the flow bowls. It kinda looked like paper towel lint. The carbs are back together and on the bike. It was getting too late at night to get them synced. It sucks living too close to whiny neighbors. I pulled the plugs to see how they looked. Every single one of them was only hand tight! I was able to remove them by hand with a socket and extend bar. For the most part the plugs looked ok. I reinstalled them snugged up by hand then a 1/4 turn with a ratchet. It is all set up to be synced tomorrow and then a test ride. ![]()
