Busa forks

wondering what would be the advantages putting busa forks on the TLR, what mods would have to be done and what year would fit.Thanks

Bling gold. Basically nothing else. Busa forks are actually softer, so you'd probably want to replace the internals. That said, I'm planning to do mine as well

The lowers are Ti-nitride coated for smoother operation. Internals are the same. 99-07 are direct swaps.

Brakes are good swaps too, same years. Look for the star (torx) bolts to get the aluminum pistons, rather than steel pistions (allen).

I think the internals are a bit sturdier. Sean (speedking) knows all about them. They are also longer than the TLR forks so you need to drop the triple a bit more to maintain the proper steering geometry.

Now that there is a second gen. of Busa's, saying Busa forks is like saying GSXR forks. Too many possibilities.

Actually I don't think much of this is truth. The 1st gen busa forks have softer springs then the tlr, I am pretty sure the valving is a little plusher ( but you would need a suspension builder to tell as I can't tell) and the forks are around the same length ( Sam has a fork chart if you wanna know for sure whats what). The drop outs are slightly different so you cant cross genders without modifiying. Also, the tlr internals will drop right in the busa forks.

I guess the question was a little vague, I will try again...

What year busa forks would fit on a TLR and what mods would have to be done if any.

Mine are 05 busa forks, you can see the difference in length.

The factory valving and spring rates are softer, but the internals are slightly more substantial (beefier) IIRC from speedking's analysis.

The dropouts will need to be modified to fit a TLR fender.

The busa forks, you can use your triples, your brakes etc. But Need to use a busa fender or mod the dropouts to use the TL one.
