    1290 Super Duke R!!!!!

I finally got my exhaust in. They called last Saturday. I got the bike to them on Tuesday, and I picked it up Wednesday. They said they put in the EU map with the Akra pipe as it doesn't have the secondary air stuff.

I rode it home with the baffle in and it was awesome. You can use 6th gear under 85 mph! Vibration is almost gone everywhere. The bike just is amazing. You can smack the throttle in 4th with Traction Control on in sport mode and get the front up.

    Wow, this thing was strangled!

First item when I got home was to pull off the muffler, and remove the baffle. NOW! It sounds right. Loving me some Super Duke all over again.

For the record, I ordered the exhaust on 6/6/2014 and it came to the dealer on 10/17/2014. She was well worth the wait.

Basically the power is better everywhere. I also noted you can cruise smoothly at 70mph in 6th without the annoying lugging/vibration of before. Remember though, with the Akra factory exhaust, it comes with SAS removal kit and a new K&N filter, as well as a remap from the dealer. They loaded the European Akra map to delete the SAS motor. I also installed the Dongle last night and haven't ridden with it. The Euro map lets it stay in SPORT all the time and the dongle leaves my ABS/MTC settings alone as well. The other good thing about the dongle is it makes it say "Not Legal" on the screen when you start up, but you can reset it. Like having a 17 round magazine for your Glock, "Not Legal in California". Life is good.

All in, I am glad I bought the factory exhaust and had it mapped. No loss of power anywhere. As hard as it is to believe it, the stocker felt strangled everywhere compared to now. You can roll on 4th gear wheelies with a nice smack of the throttle. Great fun.

        I did.

SAS is the secondary Air System, same as PAIR on a Suzuki. The Euro bikes don't get that, so when they remove the stuff, the computer turns it off via the Euro map.

The dongle is the gizmo they built to let you retain your ABS and Traction control on/off settings when you cycle the key. Stock it goes back to street/ABS/MTC on. If you want to change it there are about 4-9 menu iterations. The dongle is for folks that turn their stuff off at the track for example. The Euro map allows you to stay in SPORT/STREET/RAIN mode when you cycle the ignition. Cannot do that on a US spec stock one.

Here is the Dongle living under the seat.
