Yep, it is insulated, and yes I need to stop the pad eroding. Life is tough, we are in a rainy period, 11 inches or more in the last week or so, and it is raining hard right now.

A little followup. I am all moved in, figured out I am a Suzuki guy, 6 bikes, 5 are Suzukis. Just this weekend bought back my 06 Gixxer, lost 56 pounds (didn't lose the weight in one weekend, for the college level readers on here), and have a couple of pics of the completed shop to share, enjoy.

Revised Doug, rev 1, 59 yrs old, feeling great, lighter than I have been since probably 1980 or so.

I named the shop, Pee Paw's Scooter Shop, I had a buddy make me a sign. They even had paint made to match the seafoam green insulation and it is great.

On Sunday, I had it sorted by night time.

Storage Room is coming along as well, I hate building shelving units, they are heavy and I was by myself, the big one;s are 8 feet tall, and all the pieces weigh at least 40 pounds, it was a nice workout.

First thing I noticed and would have asked about.

I'm jealous, my garage is still setting in the drive due to reasons out of my control. It might be spring now before it's up. OH well. Good choice on the shelving, look to be the same ones Iv'e been eyeing.

Still have a Miata I see. Just started tearing down the 73 240Z I “inherited” from my oldest friend. Hasn’t been driven since 1990. I figured Dakota is going to be 4 in April and she already helps me work on the Rover, might as well start learning to work on a car she’ll be racing some day.

So, today, I got a lot further. Things that are difficult are fairly rare. But the complications were a little frustrating, but I worked through them. The little arm that holds the shift drum and its associatd spring were the hardest part. So, anyway, I played swap the shims for about an hour. So I got the clearances spot on for my cams. I also was frustrated because I didn't have a thermostat gasket, and as luck would have it, I don't need one. So, hopefully tomorrow I can lift the puppy into the frame. I plan to do three heat cycles (run until the fan comes on) and then let it cool in between. Then a slow ride up the driveway, gas it for a bit, then change the oil. Then ride her like I stole her some more!!!!

First, I had trouble yesterday with the clutch tightening up when I torqued it, turns out not only did I put the primary gear on backwards but it was draging on the retainer for the kickstarter spacer that I installed with the countersunk holes down.

New oil pump, old one is perfect, so I have a great spare.

I have become a master fisher of the cam chain. I cannot count how many times I dropped that puppy.

Timing the cams is easy on the bench.

APE redid my head, and also made my cam chain tensioner.

Best part for me is having my name engraved on the head.

Couple of tweaks later and Bob's your Uncle!

And, so, another fine day spent in Pee Paws Scooter Shop.
