  • graves fairing bracket

I"m thinking about removing the stock headlight and the stock fairing bracket, mainly for weight. Now, I know that I won't have any lights, but I never ride the TLR at nite anyway. If I want to ride at nite, I have 4 other machines to do so. I think that I will use a plastic headlight cover, and modify it to fit the opening in the fairing, attaching it to the Alumunum fairing bracket. I'm leaning towards the Graves Fairing Bracket, I'll be using the stock gauges also. I'm assuming that this bracket will mount to the stock bodywork. I know that the stock fairing (brace) will not be needed any longer. Are any of you guys using this Graves Bracket on your machine? This is some of the crazy ideas I have come up with to further this (weight thing). I've taken close to 50 LBS off this TLR, and you know, have spent alot of time money and effort in doing so. It"s become an addiction! I'm in too deep to stop now. And this is a streetbike. I must be crazy, but I love my TL. Any info on the Bracket would be welcome. Thanks Tom

Why not replace the stock upper with a HammerIT stock replacement without the hole cut in in
and then use the graves, or nothing at all like mine

SDTLR, I want to keep the stock Upper and Bodywork, mainly because its nice. And its painted! I think I could come up with something kind of nice on the headlight cover to accent it, like a # plate on the one side, and a screened scoop or air duct on the other side. Are you using the Graves Bracket? Tom

        Nope

The upper only flexes a little bit:dunno

I am going with a race upper. Without the cutout I dont think it will even move

Where is your weight loss list? Can you start a new thread please

I was using one of those fish-eye mirrors stuck to the clutch cyl. but it flew away at 140

I am looking for a bar-end mirror at the moment

SDTLR are you going to have a headlight in your aftermarket upper?Maybe a projector beam type?

Im with SD, go for a HammerIt top without the headlight cutout.

Go for a look like this
                  TL1000R -99. Yellow/Black.
M4 Full system(Alu), K&N Filter, TRE mod, removed Pair valve. Yoshimura clutch cover, removed Scissor gears, Carbon fibre hugger, carbon fibre rearhugger, HammerIt TLR/R fairings, Gilles Toolings rearset. Pazzo racing levers, shorties, Öhlins rear, Brembo front brakes, ET79 undertail, blah blah blah...

                            Forgot, it´s in Swedish...

But, all you need to know is that it has 123 hp at the rear wheel.

MIG carbon fibre slipons. He has the same carbonfibre fairings as me. stock damper.
But you can probably guess what he means, the names should ring a bell.

                            Still, the Yellow is faster...
