  • Suzuki has something up its sleeve

I don't know what it is. However, I'm told to mark Sept. 16 on our calendar.

I had a friend asking some Suz corporate guys about a v-twin sportbike or power tourer, and the guy said he couldn't say anything else but "Sept. 16."

    It's got me wondering.

sept. 16th eh? I like it.. it is not the usual wait of a year or so. I wonder what it could be, usually rumors are abound if something big is coming out.

Probably a powercruiser a la Mean Streek, V-Rod, VTX and the likes.

would be REALLY surpriced (shocked acctually) if they came with a V-Twin sportsbike.
Suzuki V-Twin 2004 sportsbike, thats a wet dream, nothing else.

(OK, Im a bit negative... )

BTW, what I had heard is that Suzuki is probably releasing a DL650 (Mini V-strom) and a totally new GSX-R 600.

The montly bike mag I have phoned the Swedish Suzuki importer, and they was on a talkativ mood. Though, the didn´t confirm this as the Truth, but they didn´t say it wasn´t true either.
The DL is probaly confirmed, but hte Gixxer? Well they "need"to do something, and the current is a bit old as it is. a new 600 would be logical.

A Powercruiser should also be a logical thing, all the big one except Suzuki has one. Why not? It+s a lucrative sector. Stupid to not be in it.

            A SV1000R - that´s the Wet Dream.

My bet would be a power cruiser of some sort, as Suzuki's crusier line is kinda lacking compared to the offerings of the other 3 Jap makers.

With the death of the v-twin dominance in racing (WSBK doesn't count, it's basically a showcase for Ducs now anyway) I severely doubt there are going to be any new v-twin supersports on the horizon for Suzuki, and probably the other Jap makers as well. I don't think v-twins are dead, but that engine configuration will probably be left to stardards, trailies, etc.

Yeah Horkn, I was thinking SV1000R too. But, I agree that the power cruiser aspect of it is more likely.

But hey, I can dream, can't I? You can bet I'm still going to be looking for something in Sept. anyway!

Didn't a mag recently have some sketches of a DL650? It would be a pretty sweet bike, somehting to really put the F650gs and KLR in their place, it would definately devour both of them on the road. Still not the 'big suprise" we're looking for

From what your friend was aking, the elusive clue would suggest that it's one of those two, the sports bike or the power tourer. My vote goes to a Power tourer too But if they bring out an Svr I won't be riding one... cuz I might just be tempted ride it home...

Maybe the Hayabusa powered "B-King" will be unleashed. That would knock that class of bike for a loop!

I heard that Suzuki is coming out with a new GSXR600 & 750. Probably going to match the 1000. No word of a V-Twin sportbike.

All I gota say is my TLR will stay in the garage but a new bike would look good next to the one there already....lol

Everyone expects the new GSXR-600 and 750. I'd guess Boost King as well.
