  • Jacked by American Suzuki again! Ill never buy another Suzuki

The issue now is the cam sprokets on the TLR/S had issues from 97-2000. The did a recall to fix them but I have never been notified. and you would think the dealer would say something when its in their shop, but why would they then they would have to fix it. Im gonna find the date of the recall and pull my service records and im sure that I should have been notified from either Puente hills Suzuki or Hahm that this recall was placed. My bike was take to them for an estimate for the countershaft. So again my Suzuki is broken and I get left holding the bag.

If Suzuki doesnt step up to fix it with the recall in place Im gonna go ballistic. They issued a recall so I dont see how they could have not said anything. I am also going to call the after market warrantee company and let them have a crack at it, since I still have 2 years left on the contract. And when they say no Ill have another case against them for breach of contract.

It sucks cause I have been looking forward to this track weekend for months now.

    Oh well sessons learned:

I know you have a bad taste in your mouth about the countershaft deal, but that was entirely from the aftermarket warranty co., correct? Suzuki had nothing to do with that if I remember correctly from all your posts over at gixxer.com, and is it definate that you have not been notified about a recall? I know it took about 5 months after a recall was issued by GM for us to get a notice in the mail and that notice came from GM, not a local dealer.

Never buy another Suzuki? I couldn't do it...I love my zook and the four other zooks I have had, and I have never had one problem with Suzuki or my local dealer.

Your right the countershaft issue was all the aftermarket warrantee company. But since they were blaming the factory I went to Suzuki and they just brushed me off even after telling them the company that they are refering people to for aftermarket warrantee was blaming them.

I'm not trying to be an ass, but how much do you trust the mechanic that just put your motor back together?
I've never heard of a cam recall. The springs in the scissor gears wear out, but it can't really do any damage (just makes a bit more noise). The two gears are so close together that even if the spring broke, it would have nowhere to go.
It seems like too much of a coincidence to me that your cams were fine for 50,000 miles then decide to shit the bed half way through your first track day since getting the motor rebuilt.
Again, I'm not trying be a shit here. But could it be a case of the mechanic fucking up the cam timing or something else and not wanting to take responsibility for it?

              Jamn,

Sorry to hear about your troubles there Bud. My local Suzuki Dealer is a total waste of space. I love Suzuki's, but I ain't to fond of SUZUKI. Their warranties are a joke, and no matter what goes wrong, it is always YOUR fault.

Even though my '98 TLS blew it's motor with only 3K miles on it, I STILL bought my new TLR. Even though Suzuki blamed me for warping my front rotor with a lock (even if I don't own a lock) when it was brand new, I still bought my TLR. Even though the store manager told me that IF I BOUGHT the TLR, if anything went wrong with it, they probably wouldn't warranty me because of HOW HE HEARD I RODE. Now, keep in mind neither he nor anyone else in the shop has ever seen me ride. I still got the TLR.

I hope everything works out for you, Good Luck. I don't blame you one bit for feeling the way you feel.

              GIVE THEM HELL.
              Your Friend in Sport,

              Edwin

How he heard you roade it?

The TLR is made to ridden hard as is any sportbike, especially the top of the line machine.

Both of you need to crawl up the dealers' arse until you see teeth.
