No end cans
Any one ever cranked up their TL without their end cans on?In a garage?God what a great sound!"What's it feel like to ride at 200mph"
"It's similar to doing 199mph"

For the sheer hell of it, I fired up the XL600 I used to own with no muffler once. That was a hell of a racket. The TL would more or less be that X2.
Hehe. That musta been one hell of a racket!"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man." - George Bernard Shaw -
I have been tempted but havn't yet, ......yet.

I've seen a guy on a TLR riding his bike around without his cans on. Then later that night he went out onto the road and was trying wheelies without them. Then when he came back in the campground he was pinging his bike off the rev-limiter. Yes, it was fricken loud!!! And when he was trying to do wheelies it was pretty cool watching blue flames shooting out his mid-pipes. But for some odd reason, I don't think the bike appreciated it!Comment

I would imagine much of his low end torque was shot to hell.
A buddy of mine has an '86 GSXR1100 with a V&H full system on it. Years ago we were running our bikes at the $10 run what ya brung drag strip that we used to have. After making some runs and for the hell of it, he pulled his baffle. The bike was running open pipe just past the 4 into one collector.
Damn that thing made a helluva roaring wail going down the strip. He said it lost some low end and midrange, but that the top end was unreal. His ET worked out about the same as I recall, but his trap speed was a few mph higher.
We put the baffle back on anyway. It was just too damn loud."The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man." - George Bernard ShawComment

I happen to have a vid of me doing a pass at 200kphwhen I turn around, about a k and a half away, it sounds like an old radial engine plane taking off! Then coming back towards the camera, dropping back in the gears and using the engine braking. ooohhhh I get a shiver down my spine just thinking about that sound
will have to chuck it in pics and vids
cumbaya sparky!

Not on the TL.. but I did have a '78 CB750 (bored to 836) and ran open headers once.. It's just nasty loud!I've got a huge penis, You've got a huge penis, even Tim over there, yup you guessed it, huge penis. Good, now that that's out of the way, let's go rideComment

When I was repacking my exhaust, curiousity got the best of me and I cranked the bike up with just the headers and mid-pipes. Oh Boy, it sounded loud, obnoxious and evil, but not something I would want to run on the street.Comment

"Like a dumptruck falling off the top of the Empire State building"
Yeah,I agree I would not ride around w/o the cans on.I think it night cause some damage from not having enough back pressure. But man did it sound wicked."What's it feel like to ride at 200mph"
