  • Por-15, a 636, RI, and RR........what a day.

I went on the funnest ride yet this year. Beautiful weather.......very light traffic. 15-25 mph corners with nice long striaghts perfect for 3rd gear stand-ups!!

We were border line out of control. Hitting corners super fast and riding wheelies down the straight parts. It was a ball. We were all pumped to be out riding together. I went through 3.5 tanks of fuel.

    Rode with a
    03' R1
    636
    900RR
    ZX-9R
    03' R6 (w/ the squid flames)

    Definatly fast company.

They were all friends of friends. Everybody has to check out my bike. They say it looks heavy and twins are just wheelie bikes....we'll after the ride and them seeing a pair of TBR cans disappear around corners, they have respect!!
The guy on the R1 was wondering "How do you turn that thing so fast?". The big Tiller was getting manhandled by myself and was ahead of the pack most of the day!! God I love the TL-R. Its a damn good bike......not the lightest or fastest but it can be a menace and very underestimated.

    Now a question:

Where is that POR-15 thread about black chassis paint? I know SDTLR did it and so did Castor?? I want so more informations. I have used the "Search" functions. That thing is a P.O.S.

Yupp, and almost EVERYONE underestimates the TLR.
Sure it looks heavy, that because it IS heavy...

But, It still handle quite well and the Twin engine is a Sweet treat to any motorcyclist.

Even I managed a 2nd gear Wheelie on PURE power. No cluch or any cheat like that. Pure Power wheelie!

          TLR Engine
          TL1000R -99. Yellow/Black.
M4 Full system(Alu), K&N Filter, TRE mod, removed Pair valve. Yoshimura clutch cover, removed Scissor gears, Carbon fibre hugger, carbon fibre rearhugger, HammerIt TLR/R fairings, Gilles Toolings rearset. Pazzo racing levers, shorties, Öhlins rear, Brembo front brakes, ET79 undertail, blah blah blah...

Ever notice the people that complain about the bike being heavy are weak little girlie men? j/k

I agree on your point of man handling the heft around corners. I have no problem keeping my TLR in check. I also used to ride a Fat Boy, you wanna talk about weight.....the TLR feels like a toy in comparison. I rode last week with 2 RC-51's, a 929RR and a 954RR and had no problems keeping up with them.

Oh, on the Por15, I recall reading a couple of threads saying that it doesn't last too long and starts to flake?? Maybe that was the chassis black

                Great ride, story, and wheelies

The POR hasn't flaked on me yet :dunno never heard of that.

I would advise against the brush application, it's too thick and runny. Tiller2nv found some spray-on Chassis black you might want to check that out
