  • Dont buy a R1!!!

If you like to ride on two wheels!! I took her out for a trial run today. I guess I forgot how light these bikes are It is soo light!! I thought it would be like my 2001 750, Ive heard the power is close to the same. WRONG!!! The front tire didnt want to stay on the ground, it had no problem with my fat ass! Looks like shes going to be a fun one I have to take her in to CHP for a inspection so I can take her for a real ride. Cant wait!!

did it feel twichy at all? that's what i normally hear about yammies. though it maybe more for the R6 than R1. i know my bro's R6 falls into the corners but does feel less than stable when it does.

Yeah kinda, first thing I bought was a Dampner. I heard that was also a must! This was really just a test ride to make sure everything was ok with the bike. Ill let you know more after I get the surgery out of the way.

                  Looks good.
Definitely get a damper for that R1.
I have read way too much about them doing unwelcome tank slappers.

It comes powdercoated along with the forks The mids are at the painters right now, I wanted them silver also. When I get out of Surgery I might do something else but I dunno what yet.

A little irony here when TL guys are calling for dampers on other bikes. lol

Ain't that just the way it works. The TLS does one tank-slapper scaring some pussy-fied Brit, and it's doomed forever...even after Suzuki gives em all dampers.

The R1 is notorious for kicking and bucking people off of it, and it's raved by the press.

LOL! I was talking with a guy yesterday evening about dampers and all that, and he was pointing out to his buds that my TLS came stock with a damper. Then he started telling me about a guy he knows, who thinks he's the shit. He has not one, but TWO dampers on his bike! I explained that that was a, um, bad thing. Dampers working against each other and all. Besides, if you need two dampers to provide enough stability, there's something REALLY wrong with the bike... I'd be interested in seeing WTF *is* wrong to make that bike so unstable though...
