  • Running a full system, no PCIII

the bike that I bought is coming in sometime in the coming week.. I'm going to tear into the motor to find out why its froze up.. the more i think about it, the more it makes me wonder how it got locked up.. then i remembered the bike has a virtually new akro FULL system on it but no PCIII or anything of the like.. could that have been the cause of the engine freezing up.. maybe running to lean or something? I've yet to get the bike but the guy says the piston is just frozen to the cylinder wall..

ok, been running my 97 tls witha full yosh rs3 race system forever, never had a problem. and i got over 6k on her this year. (bought her in march with 6 k on her, and the pipes are an early yosh system) i'm guessing they have been on for all but a couple of months when the bike was brand new. it seized for other reasons.........and it would be a pc2. 3's are for newr bikes

Im glad some one else asked about running a full system with no pc2.

Can it be doneis the PC-2 just the icing on the cake to make the full system work to its full extent
By running the full system minus the PC can it do any damage to the engine

As when I get my full system the pc-2 will be about 6months after that.

running a fullsystem and no remap would cause it to run on the rich side a tad, not lean. might get crappy perormance, but not a blown motor

yep. she surges at 3k a little, but at full rpms she is safe. 5500 rpm is a little lean, but still safe. thats what both dynojet certified dynos in town say.... i want a pc2 so i can make more hp and tq... you know 120 hp and 74 tq at the wheel isnt enough.... that and i will gain mega in the midrange 3500 rpm and up)

You can run a full system and not need a PC2. I've ran my bike with and without a PC2, I did notice that without the PC2 it ran a little lean, but that was corrected with the Yoshimura tuning box. I now have the PC2 back on because it's easier to do adjustments.

Yoshimura R-421 Tuning box, it has coarse adjustments but allows lowspeed circuit adjustment (up to 3K rpm). You can set -10, -5, 0, +5, +10 on Low, Medium and High throttle settings.

im confused on the running lean part. i always thought free-er flowing exhaust and air filter changes caused a rich condition (more air/same fuel)?

                      smartify me please

nope, more air equals leaner air fuel ratio.....
