  • Radar Detector mounting? Ideas???

My new jammer will be here today Just wondering if any of you guys have some good mounting ideas....The best ones I have seen online make you drill holes in your windscreen....ummm....NO!.....Any suggestions?

What about adapting one of those tank mounted camera or tank bag mounts.. The ones that screw into the ring around your gas cap?

most detectors come with a suction cop mount, just stick it behind the screen. or you could fabricate a mount with a tab that mountss to the mirror bolts, inside the windscreen. would probably have to mount it on the right though, for clearance reasons

saw a guy at laguna a couple years back with a radar detector mounted to the top of his helmet with silicone and if it went off his buddy riding on the back would tap him

for the best solution (if you don't mind spending a few bucks) check out http://www.saeng.com/cockpit.htm

those are some very nice mounts, but a little too spendy for me right now.

i ride with a passport 8500 radar/laser detector, i just use the suction cups that come with the detector and stick it to the windscreen, so its snug between the top of the instrument gauges and the suction cups on the windscreen. i'll probably add a bit of velcro to the bottom of the detector and top of the gauges for some extra stick.
so far, i've never had a problem with the detector coming loose, it stays put even when i hit monster bumps or land wheelies, so i know its fairly secure.

let us know how the jammer works out, i've always wondered if those things really work.

                        stupid question

How would you hear the radar detector going off with the sweet sound of the TLR?
                        I know nothing about bikes.

                          got bored:
as long as you can turn lock to lock with the detector mounted to it you are good. it will be right in view and hidden behind the screen. ccost=a couple bucks

                          s'posed to say 1/8 " aluminum plate
