  • Does everyones brakes make that "sound"

This has been bothering me since I got the TLR in july of 02. When I apply the brakes regardless of the speed there is a strange scraping sound. A friend who had a TLR said his did the same thing. The brakes work great but the sound is definately anoying. I just wondered if anyone else had this sound?

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ is what mine does. I love that sound

Sometimes I kick it down to N from 5th and slam on the brakes just to hear it longer

That is the sound all right! I never thought it was cool though. I thought I had a cracked pad.

I wonder if it goes away if you change pads?

I got the same noise. At first I thought there were something wrong with my brakes. I thought it was a scraping sound. Now I think it's more of like an electical sound or static sound or something. I get a different but another unusual sound when my turn signals are on.:dunno
Don't know what it is but I'm used to it now.

Thank god I'm not the only one hearing things. My bike has done that since day one.

The whizzing and whirring sound is the rotors and not the brake pads.

I was riding just the other day and coming down a lengthy, winding, 5km steep downhill stretch just near home and I thought "there's that bloody scraping noise again when I brake! What the hell is it!"
Good to know I'm not the only one!!!

I wouldn't describe it as a scraping sound so much as a fast whizzing sound. I love it.
