  • When does your fan turn on

As you may know this is my first time owning a twin and I am wondering what temp the fans kick in. Mine went up to 220 the other day in traffic and no fans. My old ZX7 would kick in much earlier than that.

Please just tell me if the dealer needs to fix something or if this is the normal procedure for a TLR.

mabye I just havent broken in the fans yet I only have 900 miles on it.
    I'm so slow I think I'm first!!!!!!!

105-106C is the norm, 221~223F, no need for concern! (You were right on borderline, another 10secs and they would've been on.)

This will be of no help but that is when mine kicks on. But I have found info that I can get another switch (SW518) from an auto parts store that will switch it on at about 190.

I think I've heard 225, but then again, the guy took the fans off of my bike so they haven't kicked on yet and I've only been up to 201 tops so far and I plan on putting them back on over the winter.

Sweet, you're going to put your fans on over winter, that's funny

Steve that is funny because we are up here in Upstate NY and it gets really cold really quick.

Thanks all for the input so far!
