I know its bad but when some fool does something like that i find the right time to pass and then stick out my carbon knuckled gloves and knock thier mirror out of alignment and take off on one wheel.

I fugure its the best kind of road rage. you get to show em how you feel without any permanent damage (except one time i think i knocked the mirror off... oops)

Tractors dont have rear view mirrors do they

            OUCH!

Glad you are okay lasse, Miles what is the posted speed limit on your roads? 100 :dunno

Not trying to justify stupid acts by straw chewing morons on farm equiptment, but these are the risks to riding 140 on public roads that were meant to be riden at 80. At the speed limit there is plenty of time to manuver or stop, at 140 you take your chances. Last week I came around a blind corner only to find a fork lift sitting in the middle of the road. No flares, no owner, no warning what so ever. I was pissed off, but I know that this is the risk I take every time I wick it up on public roads. Makes me long for the serenity of the track.

Yeah... 100 is the max. Usually on windy country roads though you'd get 70 or 80. I'm not trying to defend the guy going slow taking up both lanes with a damn tractor, but yeah, that's the risk you take when you go 140 on public roads. That's why I'll never do much road riding again.. some idiot will always get you.

I crashed because an oncoming car turned right across my lane illegally (remember we drive on the wrong side here). Turning right from where he turned, he couldn't see me because of a bridge pylon... anyway, I was driving through there last night, and a damn cop car did the same thing the guy who hit me did. He actually did it through a red light from the far left lane too! Boy am I glad I didn't hit a cop car - it's always not their fault!

                  Who's the idiot here
It's not the farmer, that's forsure.

If you can't figure out to take it slow over some hilly, curved road, then you only have yourselve to blame. He has as much right to be there as you, and when have you ever seen a cop give a farmer a ticket for taking up the whole road. He wasn't doing anything wrong. But you were, speeding !!!

So we're gonna blast Lasse for speeding? Yeah yeah dangerous - illegal, blah blah blah.. and YOU ALL DO IT TOO.. : So break out the Windex for your glass houses before you start giving him a hard time.

Hey wait.. maybe the blockhead taking up TWO LANES was doing something dangerous too... I dunno.. could it be illegal for a vehicle to take up two lanes?

gotta agree with Bill...when i'm out riding, i'm speeding consdierabley, so are all you guys. Its a risk we take when get on the bike and go do something like that. I think its perfectly valid to get a little upset over something like a tractor taking up both lanes...that guy could easily get someone who was obeying the law, just as easily as he could get someone who wasn't. But at the sametime, you gotta realize you knew there could be boneheads like that when you got on the old girl that morning.

No.....not blasting him for speeding.....hell, I do it all the time too. But everyone at some point in their lives has to take responsibilty for their own actions and accept the consequenses for them. The very first statement says it all.....

As I was out riding yesterday and on a part of the road whit a high speed curve 140km/h +
When I decide to go 85+MPH on a public road I have to be ready for anything to happen. The mistake is ALL HIS because he was not 100% aware of what was happening in front of him. The best riders, and the riding instructors will all tell you the same, are always aware of what is happening around them and are able to predict what will happen around them by becoming aware of habitual signs of other riders, cagers, or road conditions. It could be as simple as a change in speed, tapping of the brakes, watching their rear view mirror for eye movement, head movements, road signs, etc. Their are certain triggers that I have become accustomed to that warn me of possible danger situations and I will always try my best to predict what could happen on the whole when all of these things are brought together. From there I make my decision to ride a line, change my speed, shift in the lane, or whatever other decision could be made. Almost every experienced rider does the same thing whether it is done consciously or sub-consciously. Not doing that is a sign of either a very inexperienced rider or someone who should NOT be in control of any type of vehicle. Thats the end of this rant.

So if he did know this slow moving wide vehicle was in front of him there would have been no problem for anyone, right?

I'm not gonna say you shouldnt speed, thats what bikes are made for but what if it wasnt a farmer blocking the road but a fallen tree across the whole road, or an oil slick, animal, gravel etc who would you blame then ?

Cars I can deal with, I always see em, never had any close call, I just give em a condesending wave as theyre trying to run me over and take off but blind corners are what scare me, never know what could be lurking.

Roll the dice and take your chances
