  • Please Help!!!! TL1000R

I have a 2001 TL1000r. Bike was perfect when i put in storage for winter. Started bike in spring.Put into gear, started loosing gear pretty quick and all gears went to neutral!!! ?? Let bike sit for a few, same thing happens!! Start bike, put in gear and everything goes to neutral. Can someone please tell me what the problem is?? Low Hydrolic fluid maybe?? Please HELP!!!!

    Iíd check 2 things...

    1) the fluid level in the clutch master and make sure thereís no air in it
    2) that the disks and steels havenít stuck together from sitting

you did not say if the bike was put up properly (stabile in the tank and the whole bit) or not

the clutch slave has locked itself in the out position. . replace it
      www.cycleinnovations.com.au

It never ceases to amaze why people ask for advice then when I give it they either ignore it or argue against it.
But then I don't know all that much about TL's

      wwjd.......what would jimmy do.

                    Bleed the master first.

                    crack bolt,
                    pull handle,
                    hold,
                    close.

repeat until clear fluid runs around banjo bolt...

                    then bleed slave.

                        Is the fuel pump priming?

Sounds like your clutch switch is faulty. Try jumping the wires temporarily, and then hit your start button. If that works then you need a new switch.
I live kind of near you in the city of canandaigua. I have an extra brand new clutch switch in the package.

The fuel pump is priming. I tested the wires and then jumped them with a wire. Is that ok to do? or do i need to pull the coverings back and actually touch the two clips?? lol. Anyways thanks for the idea. I think the starter button is faulty. I just didnt want to take it apart. Want to ride!!! lol. Only other thing i can think of is starter selenoid. I hope thats not it??

Jumping the two wires together with a wire is fine.(The bike will remain in cold mapping though) That did not work? Also try shaking the wires on the front left side while hitting the starter.(They over time get pulled apart from poor routing near the forks when the handlebars are turned)

If that doesnt work then inspect the solenoid for burn/melting. If it's the starter solenoid then buy a used working OEM one and not chinese junk otherwise you will end up back at square one.
