  • Fuel pump won't prime

Hey guys unfortunately my bike didn't start this morning. The fp relay kicks in but won't prime the fp I have a spare pump and sending unit I tried and still no result. Any ideas on what could be the issue?

An open fuel fuse, or some other open in the fuel pump circuit. Verify continuity on the wires involved. Reference CrashB's color diagrams for an easy map to follow.

Since your relay is active, a quick test to verify that 12V exists on the Orange/Blue wire on the FP Relay connector will tell you which section has the problem. The Org/Blu should be at 12V all the time - even with the key off. It is connected directly to the battery.

If the Org/Blu is good, then during the 3 second prime cycle, the Yellow/Red wire should also be at 12V. If so, and the pump still doesn't run, then the open is between the relay and the pump, or there is open ground connection on the pump.
