TLS TLR engine swap
I have the opportunity to get a cheap TLR motor. I need to find out where all the info was on the swap to see if it is worth the time and effort. I know it has been on the planet before just could not find it in the searches. Pics are good too. Thanks.Tags: None

I just did a swap on my TLs. I put a race motor in my street and now I'm parting out the race bike. The swap was easy. I did 99% of it alone. The only part that made me nervous was putting all the wiring back.
Where in CA are you located?
Good luck on the swap out.

Your TLS exhaust will bolt up just fine in fact you have more room with the TLR engine for the exhaust with no air type oil cooler. You will have to add a cooling line to the right side of your radiator. Use the stock TLS rubber intake tubes and pitch the TLR's they will not work. If you have a 97 TLS you will have to ground the TLR gear selector black wire to the engine if 98 or newer your ok.
TLKS1 Josh and or 996 Mitch have additional information on things like what hose to use on the lower radiator and how well the bikes work with the engine.
I did both of these bikes with help from them. The hardest part was the radiator deal. I had them add I thin a 3/8" nipple to the radiator to feed water to the oil cooler. There will be some pictures posted by the boys to show you were this was done.
