Flat spot at 5-6k?
I took the bike out this morning and did some nice twisty back country roads. On the way home I was "playing around" on some straights in first and second around 5500-6500 RPM. I would try to crack the throttle wide open but the thing would just bog. Normally I don't bring it up to that rpm and then crack it open so I don't know if it's always been like this or if it's just since I added the Two Bros. slip-ons. Is this what most guys refer to as a "flat spot"? It was quite strange, you can blast up past that range with plenty of power but if I hold it at that rpm and then open it I get nothing. Would a PCII or a Yosh remap fix it? I was told I wouldn't need to remap for just slip-ons.- If you find this site useful kick us a few bucks. Tip cup

I ran slip-ons for 4 years without a re-map or a problem, but I have experienced exactly what you describe.
Fit a TRE and the problem will be solved. Build one"I spent most of my money on Scotch, women and cigarettes. The rest I just wasted"

That's why this place is great. You ask a question and in less than five minutes I had an answer. Gotta love it.
If I don't go the route of building one myself who has the cheapest/best unit? It seems like the prices for a TRE are all over the place.- If you find this site useful kick us a few bucks. Tip cup

Jeff, JSD or something, he's got a switchable one cheap enough. I must book mark his page, but never fear someone will paste the link, or you could try a search."I spent most of my money on Scotch, women and cigarettes. The rest I just wasted"

You can get either a TRE with a switch or without. I'm not sure why you would want the switch, I have just the regular. If you are going to get one, go to Gixxer.com and order from jeff. Great quality and price. I think it is worth it but I still noticed more results from adjusting the TPS.
