  • Do you hate the hydrolic clutch on your TLR?

This sum bitch takes more babying then a one year old. Do most of you have a bit of trouble getting a good clean launch on your TLR?.......especially if it's regeared.

is there any mechanical reason they use a hydro on race oriented bikes rather than the cable

I ride my TLS with two TLR friends and both of them have converted the hydro clutch to the TLS cable clutch.

          They the clutch now...
          Just a few mods:

          Silver, the fastest color!

On the inside - HID type bulbs, K&N filter, Iridium ix plugs, 16T front sprocket, Coerce billet sprocket cover, Yosh re-map +5, +5, +5 11 o'clock, Scorpio SE-i500 system from my GB and an ATRE.

On the outside - TLR forks, front carbon fender, 5/8th master brake cylinder, black SS brake lines (frnt & rear), braking waves all around with Ti bolts, Brembo gold front calipers & a busa gold rear caliper, flush mount signals (frnt & rear), ZG DB scr

ok, on my TLS it seems the clutch cable has strecthed way too much but it's only 1.5 years old....i've adjusted it out all the way at the main adjuster on the engine and it's almost all teh way out at the handle and there still seems to be too much slop? any suggestions
TL1000S - M4 full system, TFi, Airbox mod, TRE, PAIR Valve removal, Galfer SS Lines, TLR 6-pot callipers, Barnett Clutch Springs (not installed), Bitubo (not purchased)

Got a manual, you may need to adjust the screw and locknut on the worm drive behind the front sprocket cover. If you loosen the locknut off, screw the screw in, you'll have to back off on the cable adjusters.

The manual has the ideal angle of the arm the cable pulls on.

If that doesn't work out, buy a new cable before this one lets you down. (Mine is 4 years old and not a problem with the cable itself, and I keep it lubed.)

I too would like to know the reason for Suzuki using a Hydro clutch on the TL's. What benifit does it have? If it was only worse I'm sure they wouldn't have used it.

I for one don't like it. I've had my bike for 6 months and I still stall the bitch when I got my girl on the back and even sometimes with just me on it!

I can't drag race it at the track either. I cant get better then 2.4 sec 60 foot times either.

Honda uses a hydro on the RC51. Maybe its a v-twin thing?

it makes me wonder. the lightest bikes (600s) all have cables. and why would they "update" the cable on the tls to hydro on the tlr? its not that much lighter pull. if its for spec sheet bragging rights, then its wasted....

I have the same problem on my 98 TLR.
                              What gives?
Picking up the spooge from the line maybe?

How do you convert HYDRO to a CABLE?
                              I would LOVE to know.
