  • 120/70 vs 120/60 front

I have a buddy who runs the Diablos on the street and gets 18000KM on a set and gets even wear front and rear with a 180 rear and a 120/70 front he is thinking of trying the 120/60 front does anyone have any experience with it and what changes in handling would one expect. His turns in way better than mine but I still have my crappy dunlops on with a 190 rear.

a shop in ca screwed up once and mounted a 60 instead of a 70 up front once and it made for a severely pointed front tire (read flat on the sides from being "pulled down". of course i noticed and they fixed it on the spot so i never rode it, but after looking at it, i dont think it would've been fun

2000 tillis plus stuff with some polished stuff and some carbon fiber stuff and a little bit of tlr stuff and some gsxr stuff

Isn't it like dropping your trips on the forks?

can someone say babying his M/C. Shit man I may get that mileage out of the front tire, but my rear showed cords at 6000kms

            ...

On my S I use 180/55 rear and a 120/60 front (BT010) with the forks dropped 11mm. Greatly speeds up steering without getting twitchy. It's about a 2:1 rear to front wear with no handling problems.

i had to get the front replaced once and they accidentally put on a 120/60. the price tag on the tire said 120/70. when i got home, i noticed that the tire looked smaller than normal. the bike handled really slow...not typical of a tls...

That would be 1,800km I guess not 18,000km. And I cry about the 3500km I get out of mine

Why, yes it is....If your forks are already raised, I suggest you go back to stock before getting a 60 tire. Did it on mine, and the bike dove fast into turns, pushed the front-end and worked my steering dampner out badly. But in the end...it's all what you like!!
