  • Bling *** Squid *** Bling???

How important is the look of the bike to you??

Why I ask is because I didn´t think it mattered to me.

    But damn, it do!!
It´s no fun to ride the Tiller they way it looks now!!
Sure thing, the actual ride feeling is still good, but as soon as I slow down, get into populated areas, I feel ashamed of my UGLY AS HELL Tiller.
No fun rideing then. The Tiller is suppoed to be a head turner because it´s gorgeuous look and uniq style. Not beacuse it is uniqely ugly...
And, it´s not like I can sneak my way trough the city with that Full M4...

Man, I even skipped riding today because I didn´t feel for rideing the Ugly Duck.

    Suxs this. I thought I was Squid-proof.

    @@$$£@€#%$

Welcome to the club dude. Mine is in the same state at the moment. The paint on the tank and tail are shot out, there's huge bug splater all over the headlight and radiators, scraped up levers and bar ends, but I actually like it. I'm going streetfighter with mine. When I replaced the motor a took some time and rerouted all the wires inside the frame, repainted it black and ditched the overflow bottle. Next I'm gona make a new bracket for the gauges so they sit lower behind the headlights and I'm gona break out the fiberglass and clean up the headlight essembaly for a smoother look. I'm also builing a new subframe and raising it about an inch higher and shortning my cans up a few inches to make the rear wheel a bit more visable. I'm thinking either a belly pan from the sv1000 or making something along the lines of a Buell unit as well. I just got tierd of full fairings I guess, and I've always loved fighters. I kinda want something really different too. I'm gona hang on to my fairings too and seal up the headlight opening and use them for trackdays or something when the time comes around, but for the moment, less is more.

            Scrapyard.
Sounds like that gona be a nice looking bike!!

I have two bikes, the other is a nudie. So, Im not interested in haveing the TL nude too.
And, if you do as you do, it look mean. but the way mine look, wirea all ower, dented tank, scraped cowl, a headlight that looks totally inappropriate, cans unaligned, etc...

I actually don't mind riding my bike all naked like that. Happened once for like two weeks this year cause I was waiting for my front sprocket and oring seal to come in and didn't feel like taking them off again so I left them off. Thing is people look at you and probably say shit man that guy probably had a good crash and he still is riding his bike! That guys got balls! Well at least thats what I told myself then. I prefer my tiller all dressed.

Do I mind how a bike looks?

PL.. I took about a perfectly good running Ninja, just so I could do a ground up restore on it.. And spend WAY more than I should have!
I've got a huge penis, You've got a huge penis, even Tim over there, yup you guessed it, huge penis. Good, now that that's out of the way, let's go ride

of course it matters . its a little thing called pride of ownership. if you didn't like the bike you probably wouldn't care if it looked and smelled like dog shit. we all share the same passion for our beloved TL's. don't think you're a squid because you want your bike to look as good as it feels to ride. i probably spend just as much time cleaning my bike as i do riding it. if i ride for 3-4 hrs then she gets cleaned for about the same amount of time. not just cleaned, but inspected too......loose bolts, leaks, fluids, air filter, chain and sprocket wear, etc. besides the TLR is not meant to be a naked bike........it just doesn't suit it very well in my opinion. just keep her as well maintained and clean as you can and be patient for the fairings to come in. it will be so rewarding for you once she's all back the way you like
