  • TLR Ride Height

Whats up fella's a newbie here, looks like you guys have a great board going. I've got a '01 TLR and I love the bike, though I haven't been able to spend alotta time riding it. Anyways, I've got a question regarding the stock suspension set-up and ride height. I raised the rear ride height with a Suzuki spacer, I could only fit one additional spacer to the upper rear suspension mount (don't have threads for more). Do you guys know if they make something like this for the TLR?

or do you know if this gsxr kit will work, it does look real similar to the upper TLR mount, but I don't know the specs.

Also, I've been hearing about the bitubo rear shock/spring combo. So, the bitubo unit is a direct replacement for the stock spring? and you remove the stock shock (or damper or whatever the correct term is) right? I'm thinking this is the way I would like to go. Thanks for your help....

You could also raise the fork through the triple clamp around 5-10mm, but then she starts getting alittle twitchy. I tried both and found it was an overkill. A single spacer on the back should be ample. Also, try riding without the steering damper for comparison. Some guys really like the Bitubo rear because it has the adjustment there and also it replaces the trashy stock unit.

Does Bitubo or Penske come with a rideheight adjuster?
I know the Öhlins doesnt but the Wilbers Im thinking of getting is a three-way with RH-adjuster.

Im currently running a 6mm washer at the top springmount on the stocker, that together with a lighter steeringdamper oil has done wonders for quick turn-in, but the rear can feel a little uneasy when accelerating hard out of corners (have Jamies road settings). Im not pushing really hard on public roads though so it works pretty good the way it is I think, but I expect to do some trackdays next summer and will prolly find out if the stocker is as bad as some say....
