  • TLR hugger clearence issues with Penske shock?

I'm looking to add a hugger to my wish list and was wondering with my Penske shock, does that kill any dreams of putting on a hugger? It's pretty close to the tire as it is now.

not that i have experience with it, but i can't imagine you would have any clearance issues..........go buy it, and if it doesn't fit you could sell it to me at a discounted price

On full compression of my rear suspension I have had the Penske nick the hugger (I think it was the spring collar, but I am at work and cant verify). Not a real big deal, it only scratched the paint a bit. I might carve a small dent/hole into the hugger in that location before I repaint it though.

            Erik,

Do you ever ride double up? I ride double up on a pretty consistant basis and don't want to screw up the hugger if I get one.

            Thanks!

Yup, almost all the riding I do on the TLR is 2-up. Though together we do only add up to 240lbs...

The shock hitting the hugger only occured when I first got the bike and took it out on a couple rides before increasing the rear pre-load to the proper level. We hit a pretty big bump and bottomed the suspension. It has not hit since I set the sag properly, and the hit was minimal, maybe only 1mm of intersection or so.

This also may depend on the hugger. I am not sure what make mine is since it was on the bike when I bought it.

you are the lightest couple on earth.
are you 140 LB and she is 100? WOW

I double up but we weigh around 345 I guess I am just getting old.
                I'm so slow I think I'm first!!!!!!!
