  • gear indicator ?

    I want to get one of those digital gear indicators but i have a TRE. Will this be a problem? I know this question has been asked before but fill me in anyways. thanks

    2001 TL1000R

    Carbon Kevlar gsxr1000 solo tail w/ r6 taillights/hammerit tlr/r kit/ full yosh w/ carbon cans/ attack rearsets/ hermit dragon exhaust hangars/Stainless braided brakelines front and back/ EBC HH pads/ BMC race filter/ PC2/ metzler sporttech tires/ carbon here and there/ racelite fairingstay/ Olhins steering damper/ Polished frame, swingarm, subframe................STILL A PILE OF SHIT

    Depends on what type you get. If it runs off the ratio between tacho and speedo you'll be OK.

    If it does use the GPS you still should be able to get it working without too much mucking around, the TRE only sends the one signal to the ECU, the GPS signal is effectively just left hanging there.

        steve...couldn't you also just put the sensor in the circuit before the TRE??

          Yes, you could, that's what I mean by a bit of mucking around, you'd have to cut the wire out of the Ivans TRE that goes to the GPS.

            All I really want is a light to come up when I'm in 6. Kinda embarrassing but I very often want to change to 7th gear. Would this be easier than the gear indicator? btw I also have Ivan's TRE installed.

              I need one of those to tell me I'm in second gear for wheelies.

                yeah that is a problem i am having too. i keep looking for 7th gear on the higways but i would also like to get it for just peace of mind. let me know what kind you get and how it works....

                    yeah i havce a 2002 Neon R/T but i might sell it to get a Dakota so i can pull my bike or a boat. i used to be into cars for years so it is pretty hooked up. intake, exhaust, header, hi-flow cat, etc....
                    too much to list, way too much.
