fork height
i have been tweeking my suspension and wanted to know what a popular setting for the height on the front forks is. I am seeing anywhere from 6mm to 10+mm and wanted to know first what stock is since I bought the bike used and do not know if it has been messed with and second, what mosy people are running. I weight in at about 165 if this has any bearing. i know i have to adjust my sag for my weight but not sure if it would effect the set-up for the fork height. No More TLRTags: None

I can only answer one, the fork height wont affect your sag settings (much), lowering the front will transfer more weight forward, but probably not enough to affect the sag settings front or rear. But to be sure, just re-check it when you do drop the forks to see if the front sag setting drops and the rear sag becomes less. (Don'ty forget to do it suited up as well, your leathers, boots and helmet will add a few lbs that also must be taken into account).
160? You just might benefit from quicker turn in with a lowered front. Not that I'll ever try one, but a 180 rear might help you too. I have enough bulk to make the bike do as I say (well lean) and sometimes it will even have the nerve to object.

Actually stock fork height on the TLR is 6.5mm above the triple clamp. This measurment is taken from the top of the triple clamp to the top of the fork tube,or the base of the fork cap. Confused? Popular settings for fork height are anywhere from 10mm to 15mm. I currently have mine at 15mm, but not before I changed the stock springs. However, since you weigh a mere 165 you might be able to raise the forks to 15mm and not have to worry about your upper fairing hitting the fender under heavy breaking

appreciate the help guys and i guess I am better off for being a lite weight for once. I'll start with 10mm and go down from there if i am not happy. Sucks that it is so close to winter I am just getting her tuned in. i went 16 months stock and the little I have done so far is night and day. can't wait to see what dropping the forks does. Just to verify i am supposed to drop them seperately and then measure to make sure they are even. Not wise to do them with the tire on from what i have read.No More TLR
