  • Got a "Sound" question.

Im looking to get a Full System..........M4

Does a Carbon Fiber System sound the same as a Aluminum??

I am thinking that the Carbon Fiber absorbs or doesnt have that full sound like a aluminum can does. I thought I heard this before? I had a full system w/ a carbon can on my GSX-R600 and it sounded -ok for a 600

Carbon Fiber is so purdy......what do you all think??

The CF should be fine as long as you repack every 3-4 years or so.

In my experience carbon fiber has a different sound than Al and Ti. Not really louder but different, deeper I would say.

I did the comparison with my buddy C4 alumimun with my C5 CF and there was no audible difference. But then again they were just slip-ons. I have heard the full system CF's (yosh) and they sounded great loud and less engine noise than with a Bolt-on set-up because the BP was reduced throughout.

The air is flowing out the back and at the speed and direction it is travelling you would be hard pressed to really notice any difference because of the sleeve material.

Sound is a preference thing so be careful what you ask. I heard an SV650 with the D&D single can and that was great too.

I think the only time you will damage carbon fiber is if your bike is backfiring. My bike was backfiring so bad I almost blew the whole end out of the stock cans. They were cracked halfway around them New spiggot gastket fixed the backfiring
