i've never ridden with a gel seat, but i have with the corbin. the corbin is quite pricey, but very nice. it's shape is nice because it helps keep your nuts (or nut ) off the tank. it feels a bit hard at first, but is quite comfortable. it also weighs about 3 times more than the stock seat since the frame is made out of metal instead of plastic.
2002 TLR B/W . Yoshimura bolt on Titanium cans. Yosh box remap. Joe V airbox mod. plug in TRE. 17/41 sprockets. Zero Gravity double bubble screen. fan switch. HyperPro steering damper. Extreme Graphic Top Gun undertail. Ohlins rear shock.

Gear: Arai Quantum f. Joe Rocket GPX 1pc suit. Alpinestars Super Tech boots. Alpinestars GP-1 gloves----always wear it all

I have yet to meet a person who has a bad thing to say about the Suzuki gel seat. I am convinced that I need to get one soon. The Heli-bars made a vast improvement.

I've got a sargent seat which was custom built with a new atomic foam system I prefer it over the stock seat although it is stiffer at first but will conform to my arse in time check out http://www.sargentcycle.com

I've got a corbin for my SV that I got off ebay for a buck fiddy. That was the best investment I made for the SV. The corbin seems to conform to your a$$ much more than the stock seat and as mentioned keeps the nuts from gettin' smashed.

the only thing i didnt like about the corbin i had was the edges were raised so much, that when you hung off, the ridge would ride straight up your crapper

this was without the piping too

did you know that you can ride your bike to corbin (in CA) and they will custom make a seat for you on the spot, adjusting it as you like. price is the same and they even ship your old seat home.

it is an option for you central/northern ca peeps

2000 tillis plus stuff with some polished stuff and some carbon fiber stuff and a little bit of tlr stuff and some gsxr stuff

Well, I've had both the Gel Seat($119), and the Corbin ($219)on my TLS, and I didn't much care for the Gel Seat. Mine had the cloth cover on it, and I slid around so much it made riding a Pain. I found myself constantly repositioning myself during the ride, and with leather pants on it was 10X worse. I sold the Gel seat on Ebay and got the Corbin. My only Negative comment on the Corbin seat is the firm edges as well, but only because they make it harder to touch the ground when stopped. The weight isn't really an issue for me, as a diet would offset it rather quickly. I found the Corbin helped remove some pressure from my wrists, and once the foam was broken in....................ALL DAY COMFY. To me, the Corbin was well worth the extra 100 beans.

Never had a Corbin on the "S", but the GEL is great.. It does retain heat though on a sunny day..

Very comfortable & easy to move around on
I've got a huge penis, You've got a huge penis, even Tim over there, yup you guessed it, huge penis. Good, now that that's out of the way, let's go ride

I am a corbin on the TLS - It is the best thing in the world.. My only complaint is it lowered the seat height a little bit and I notice it in my legs. But I am 6'1 also.

Lowered the seat height eh ? THat would be good for me since I am only five ten and on my toes at the stoplights...

Wonder if the sazook gel seat does the same ?

Also, I saw a website that sells lowered footpegs that are adjustable (lower for typical cruising or higher for the track or the backroads) but I don't think they make 'em for the tiller.

Anyone know anything about this ?

The Suzuki gel and standard seats look to be exactly the same size...
