  • Handy stands any good?

Does anybody here use the Handy stands? They seem like a great deal at $99 plus shipping for both a front and rear. It would be great to get feedback from actual owners of the stands.

Here is a link to the stands

I use the spooled version and for the money I think they are a deal. You do need to be careful with them as they are not as solid as some of the more expensive stands.

The rear is fine, the front I get worried about.

Yeah the rear is very strong but the front is kind of weak. But you cant use the front without the rear anyway so its all good. Once the bike is up on the rear it aint goin anywhere

I'm glad to know that. I'm always cautious before torquing into something if its on the front stand

I've never used one, but I will tell you to make sure you get the spool or bobbin type, and not the rubber pad type stand. The TLR's swing arm brace, and those universal pad stands just don't get along well together.

I got a set thrown in with my bike when I bought it. The rear works just fine for me (with bobbin support bracket), but I agree with freakinheat, the front stand leaves a lot to be desired in the way of stability. Lifting the bike without the damn thing popping out of position is quite the chore sometimes.

rear is okay, it's a bit of work to lift the TL cause of the weight cause there's not alot of leverage w/ the handy. the front is a little wobbly. make sure when you're using the front you have it right under the fork tubes. if they're misaligned in anyway, it may slip and damage fork, caliper, rotor and/or wheel.

Yup. The rear is just fine. I have no problem there. The front is a bit to get used to. I think it is a good deal.
