      Welcome!

Congrats on the purchase. When it comes to upgrades, you're going to hear tons of advice. An aftermarket exhaust is hard to pass up (the TL is a treat to the ears when uncorked), and the suspension of any bike (especially that rotory damper) won't hurt from attention.

However, after thinking about it, I'd recommend setting the TPS (throttle position sensor) as that will take some of the low rpm stumbles out, and then just ride the thing.

Oh yeah, and the TPS adjustment is free!

Also look at SteveTLS's site. He has a wealth of informtion, including how to build a Semi Active Timing Retard Eliminator. Another worthwile mod for under $20.

Welcome to TLP! The first mod is the same any cruiser guy would do - exhaust. The only difference there is the TLR sounds alot meaner barking through some glass pack race baffles than any Hardley or Japanese clone ever will blatting through those God awful straight pipes. Well that difference about 60 more horsepower corralled between the TLR's frame beams.

You fill find that the TL engine produces a wonderful repertoire of musical engine sounds when equipped with a righteous exhaust. The menacing trolling around town 3,000 rpm rumble, the 5,000 rpm growl and the get the hell outta my way 7,000 plus rpm roar over a constant background of gear driven cam whine. This soundtrack is accompanied by a power surge at 7K rpm that will definitely get your attention.

Enjoy! Welcome to the dark side. If this was a mid life crisis purchase, it is a good one

That is by far the best story I have heard in a while... Put some pipes on that badboy, that way when you roll up to the cruisers, they all turn expecting to see one of their own.

                      Welcome!

They say yellow TLRs are faster, but have never found proof of this. We all know yellow is a cowardly color (in the TLR, not the TLS), and they are alway seen running away.

the tlr is a good bike stock, but with a few simple mods the folks here can help you with, be prepared to unlease a badass monster. if you liked the sound of piped cruisers, you're gonna love the tlr with a full race exaust system, its downright nasty!
