  • Dumb question 101 ... and another thing!

My brake light doesn't seem to work ... I checked bulbs and they are both working ... no other malfunctions.
Any thoughts? ... just purchased Toby steering damper of ebay for $96 ... anyone have experience with this damper?

Front and rear levers both don't turn them on?

... no work to rear lighting ...

... however, had full yoshi exhaust installed recently and i noticed that there is a wiring harness in the trunk that is not connected ... could this be the problem? ... I'd thought that it was disconnected because I also had it remapped and stuff ... Bike runs great!

get a voltage check. see if theres any juice in them there wires.
If not you'll have to find out by following the wires back where she's not connected.

checked your fuses? Indicators are OK too?

(avoiding getting the magnifying glass out here to trace the wiring diagram )

there are two wiring harness plugs in the trunk on the left side. one is a two wire connector with a black cap on it. that is to put the ecm in diagnostic mode. the other is a larger plug that is capped off too. i'm not sure what it is for, but its not plugged into anything. check the connector to the rear tail light, brake light setup......it might just be loose

Just a shot in the dark..those are dual element bulbs. Meaning the brighter element could be burnt out but the dimmer (taillight) might not be. Its rare that both elements burn out at the same time but I have seen it before!!!!

I had same prob, it was the light stuck on, check your rear brake light switch on the back of the right side rearset. Make sure that it is returning all the way. (the spring on the switch)

It could be the most simples thing. Buy new bulbs. Check fuses.
