  • Polishing rims - the lip or the whole thing

Polishing rims, what should I polish the whole thing or just the lip. What have other people done in the past. PICS PLEASE

As for the polishing is a pain debate, My misses is on the other side of the country, my TLR is now in the Family room.

And I have to do some thing, with my hand.

Also the swing arm, I was thinking of polishing up to the weld lines (closest to the engine) then painting the hard to reach parts black.

    cheers

Lip polishing is MUCH easier, and I think better looking than the whole thing, IMO. Plus you can change the spoke color until you find one you really like.

at the moment my rims are white, so I'd pobably paint the spokes black if I was to just do the lips

Yeah, I really like the polished lips. I'm going to do it to a spare set of rims I've got with red centres like BrUiRcNeR and Tornado waves.

Had polished wheels and swinger on my B12, pain in the ass to keep clean, esp if you ride. My advice would be just the edges...

I did my back and will do the front probably this weekend. All I did is mask off the spokes and the tire and paint on the aircraft stripper and it melted right off. I then used a rag and fine steel wool to just wipe them down. The pics here are right after I did them and I didnt clean them real good yet. You can also polish them even further to make them look like chrome if you want

One more what the hell. These pics where taken inside at night with low light and no flash. If you want I can take a good pic in the sun so can see how shiny they are

Do the lips only and paint the spokes a bright color if you wanna show off your rotors etc. Polished spokes are difficult to do and looks kinda ricy IMHO. What color is your bike Marshall?
