  • Toby Steering Dampers

Alright you gear heads out there ...

I just purchased Toby damper used off ebay ($96) ... anyone have experience with these? Do you like it?

... I know it aint Ohlins or HyperPro, but I thought the price was right.

... does anyone have instructions they can fax or email me?

So you are the guy that won that thing. I was tempted to jump in on the bidding but I have other items higher up on my upgrade list.

toby, made by/for lpusa. they have been making them for a long and from what i understand are a good damper. tiller2nv even mounted one to his r1. they have plenty of adjustability and work well, just not a big name like ohlins. they seemed to be alot more popular back in the days of the long side mounted dampers. the mounting hardware isnt as "trick" as an ohlins or hyperpro, but still works well

2000 tillis plus stuff with some polished stuff and some carbon fiber stuff and a little bit of tlr stuff and some gsxr stuff

I like it, very adjustable and the cost is a lot less then other brands. The mounting hardware for the R1 is just like the Ohlins. If I had to do it all over again I would. So far no headshakes

tlman, get a knife or your thumbnail and pry out the little chrome cap. Then you will see the light

Those bolts actually have little caps on them. Use a razor blade or something similar and pry the caps off. After that its just an allen wrench away from removal.

I bunged one up before I figured out they have little caps Now it has a little rust on the one I scratched up.
I've crashed both, and hurt myself worse on bicycles then I have on motorcyles!
