I think 125-128 RWHP is realistic with airbox, custom fuel map, and full exhaust is very possible.

The 1998 Yamaha R1 put down 128 RWHP and it has two extra slugs!!! The TL-R motor can put down some pretty impressive numbers with mild tuning.

Anyways thats what Im shooting for.

The stronger TLR's with pipes and filter can get around 128 RWHP with proper tuning. Stock, you're looking at 119RWHP. If you want more ponies, you'll have to start looking at engine mods, flows, cams, heads, etc.

I agree, 130 is a reachable # with a good setup and proper map.

mid 120's to about 130+/- is what i've consistently seen posted with stock internals, but with full system, airbox mod, custom pc2 map, etc.
depends on other minor tuning factors and on the dyno used.

            Just some comparisons..........

            FZ1 are 125hp
            Z1000 are about 121hp
            CBR900, 929, and 954 are high 120's
            I metioned the 1998 R1
            Late model ZX-9R's are 130+

So the TL-R is very strong in the motor department even being a TWIN. Inlines of the same displacement are higher horsepower motors.

I wont start discussing the new liter bikes like the GSX-R1000 and R1 since they are high 130's to 140!!

I am very happy with the TL's power and you CAN NOT BEAT the awesome power delivery. Its a riot.

I would look at around 165 to 170 hp before going internal....but I may be biased...

                        HP Figures

I think Art Davis' bike was getting around 150+ to the rear after doing some work to the internals.I know there was a post on here somewhere about his bike.
"What's it feel like to ride at 200mph"
                        "It's similar to doing 199mph"
Shinichi Itoh's response to the press when he was the first man to break 200mph on a GP bike.

I read somewhere that you can get 140hp at the rear with a set of cams, full pipes, air box, and pcII. Is this true while we are on this subject. I am rebuilding this winter and was thinking about getting some cams.

Is this number reachable or was someone blowing smoke up my ass? If it can be done; what cams are the best. However this is a street bike and I do not want to lose to much realibility. thanx in advance
