  • Brake whoes

I just had a new set of tires mounted on my TLS today. I took it back to the shop I bought it from to do the work. Because I didn't have a ride to pick me up and haul me to work I trucked it there and back......now I don't have any front brakes. They loaded the bike so I didn't notice it until I got home an hour later!

I can build pressure by pumping it a couple of times and it will hold pressure until the bike moves then the handle will collapse to nothing at all, but then if you pump it back up it will again hold pressure till the bike rolles a few feet.

First thing I did was to get my minivac and bleed it throughly.....still the same...is there anything I'm overlooking?

I did notice that there was some fluid residue on the caliper like some one had the bleeder open, so its going back tommorrow.

I see now that I read your post your having brake woes

So all the bleeder screws are tight and you still cant hold pressure?

:dunno pinched line, any leaks coming from where they slammed the rotor back in the forks

A severly warped disk, pushing the pistons way back into the calipers?

Walk the bike and see if you can see a wobble in one of the disks, if so the tyre changers.

or if they forgot a spacer the wheel wont be straight. could cause the same

wait...we are talking front wheel. are the spacers that go into the forks all the way in and seated (and tight)?

if you used the mity vac, then it takes care of my thought of air in the crossover line if you are running the stock type brake line setup (crossover line)

Well....warped rotor it is! I put her up on stands this morning and it appears just the right side is bad

SO in a few, the shop will be getting a call...

shit that sucks!!!! I hate taking my bike to the dealer! Last time they balanced my TLS tires, they gave me my tire back without the rear spacer!!!!!!!!!! I has to drive 1/2hr there too! They didn't refund the balancing or atleast half of it for the one tire they screwed up!
