  • Subframe advice needed

I got a picture of my "modified" subframe.

    Question.
As you can see, the middle holds are missing (broken). Do I need to fix them or can I ride without them witout any problems?
THey are broken on both sides. (why?? becasue the previous owner is a slob... If he had done the mod right, it would have hold better...)

    I have the stock Hump.
    TL1000R -99. Yellow/Black.
M4 Full system(Alu), K&N Filter, TRE mod, removed Pair valve. Yoshimura clutch cover, removed Scissor gears, Carbon fibre hugger, carbon fibre rearhugger, HammerIt TLR/R fairings, Gilles Toolings rearset. Pazzo racing levers, shorties, Öhlins rear, Brembo front brakes, ET79 undertail, blah blah blah...

Just, incase I was a bit unclear. This is how the Subfram will be modded.

And, since it´s so damn expensive to weld Aluminum I don´t plan to reinfoirce it again.

And, No - I don´t plan to have passengers on the TL. (Have no rear seat)

SD. Noone but you, anwered last time,.

So, you FORCED me to post hoe...

I plan on building "can support" that goes from the passenger peg holders and down to the cans.
Going to get some 1.5mm (maybe 2mm) aluminium and do a pair on my own. And, if it should feel a bit unstable, I can always make them double.

Hmm, cant find the picture on this computer. Well, this picture show the general idéa.

Oh well, shouldn´t have bought a new computer this month...

Uno, sure. I will tell everyone about the can holders, when Im done with them

No, there are real screws under the helmet holder. But, maybe it´s like you say. They might be there to ensure the helmet wont drop to the ground. Or something.

Well, welding Alu is s**t expensive where I live so im pretty sure I will do this mod and hold my thumbs.

oh...........now i see. you were right . i guess they had a race solo tail section on. the solo tail doesn't use the side bolt. here is a stock photo

EDIT: solo tail does use that bolt location

Yeah, that bike is cool. I wonder who it is...

I really don´t remember where I got the picture. I saved it because I wanted the "can holder".
Easier to look at how someone else have done before. Unessesary to invent the wheel every time...
