  • Buying stuff from HammerIT - question

A thing that crossed my mind today was, if I buy fairing from SA (HammerIT). What about taxes??
Do the custom charge me on those?

Damn, I bet it works like that.

I mean, the package isn´t that small = no chance the cusom will miss it...

    TL1000R -99. Yellow/Black.
M4 Full system(Alu), K&N Filter, TRE mod, removed Pair valve. Yoshimura clutch cover, removed Scissor gears, Carbon fibre hugger, carbon fibre rearhugger, HammerIt TLR/R fairings, Gilles Toolings rearset. Pazzo racing levers, shorties, Öhlins rear, Brembo front brakes, ET79 undertail, blah blah blah...

I think it works like this... you pay the amount of the fairing excl. tax to HammerIT, on top of that you pay 25% tax and 6% customs fee.

BUT!.... I´m not anywhere near sure that I´m right about this. Could be cheaper... could be more expensive

      Hmm, sound right.
Can hardly be more than 25% taxes.

The thing is that when I bought my Kendo gear in Korea I only payed the 6%... But I think they made som error. Anyway, it took three days to ship it from Korea to Sweden, and 2 weeks from Stockholm to Helsingborg... Man, was I angry or what about that. Almost missed a grading because of that...

It was $1000 cheaper in Korea compared to Japan, and the quality was superb!

whenever I order stuff from outside canada I always calculate an extra 20%. I don't know how they do their customs work but sometimes I get charged extra sometimes not. Its a gamble.

We mark the waybill "gift". USA / Canada / Oz - No duty when it's shipped through the postal services. There is a small charge in the UK, Euro countries all have different policies. However, we've shipped to most countries in western EU and never had any problems with duties.

This only goes for air mail. With Airfreight all countries charge duties.

                      Pierre.
