  • valve springs

anyone know of a god set of after market valve springs that do not have the high failure rate that our stock ones have? gonna replace all when I service this winter and want to upgrade while in there. also any sites that sell them would be great. Does barnett have any? I really like their clutch springs, they have worked great.

How many valve spring failures do you know of first hand? I have not heard of any. If you are going to use stock cams they should not be a problem. If you are going to a different cam your options are limeted. I use a spring made for a Busa and had bases custom made.

I guess i am confused about the springs that make the TICKING sound when they break (common occurrance from what I have read). maybe someone could clarify this for me I was under the impression they were the valve springs.

          Valve Springs

I would call them the sissior gear springs. I would call those a normal point of maintance to be replaced. Any time you are adjusting the valves just replace them. It only takes a few miniuts.

I haven't heard of starter motor problems at all -- bump-starting could be more difficult though
