  • my speedo is dead on!

hmm, funny thing. all my buds now have yeller boxes. i have none. i have been riding the tls witha 40t rear sprocket since about a week after i got it. i assumed it was reading high on the speedo. everytime i passed a speed box, mine would read right on. and this has been at every one of these things. also, i have been verifying distances with my buddies, and i'm right on. WTF? i thought that i would be running ~15% high.

          Horkn,
Are you stock or one down on the front as well?
If you are one down, then 16/40 is damn near stock drive, right

nope 17-40 is what i run. and 16 40 will put it even further off than 17-40. going down 1 in front will do the same as up three in the back.

crash, i was told that they were off stock too. i dunno. we even mile marked it off on the freeway. and the speedo is on at 25mph (with the radar box) and at 150mph too. whoops, did i say that out loud?

I thought down 1 was the same as up 2 in the back

I dunno about the speedo being off from the factory-I have stock sprockets and was pulled over 2 nights ago. I was clocked at 44 while doing an indicated 44-I was rather surprised. The officer was very nice though-it was in a 35, and he just gave me a warning. He told me that he usually doesn't write tickets at that amount over, just tries to give people a heads up to slow down a bit.

i thought that it is only the front sprocket that affects the speedo....

and thats why there is the "yellow Box"...to counter act putting on the smaller front sprocket...

                  i could be wrong though....

and before lasse says it...could be wrong...i usually am .

                    you are wrong screwloose....again

Changing either the front or rear will affect your speedo

and from what I've read 1 down in the front is equal to about 2.3 up in the rear:dunno

I'm sure I'm wrong too but I think 3 up in the rear is approx. 11% fast, so I'm guessing 2 up in the rear should be about 8% fast. is your rear tire really ran down Horkn? Wouldn't that matter
