  • Need Help Fast!

Ok everybody, need some help. Went to go start the bike at lunch, and it was idling a little funny, went to adjust the idle, the whole cable came loose

So, what I need is any information/instructions as to how to go about fixing this. I know that I'm going to have to pop the tank up, but where exactly does this thing screw in at?

Appreciate all the help in advance.

Was it the fast idle cable that came loose, or the idle speed adjuster that is on the frame under the tank?

The idle speed adjuster is under the throttle pulley (left side) on the forward throttle body. I sent you a PM with the schematic for the throttle body. Let me know if you need anything else.

AWESOME! Thanks! Next question I have is, if I can't get this on in the parking lot, can I just use the choke (fast idle), to get the idle up and get home without hurting anything?

It shouldn't hurt anything, it's just a fast idle setting. The FI deals with the mixture.

You can pretend that you're a Harley rider. Never let it go completely to idle. Just keep jacking the throttle like a bad ass.

The worst you can do is foul a plug replace and go!

after you get your idle set you can take it off and leave it off.

yes, you could, but why? when it gets vibrated out of position(again) then you would have to dick around with it to get it to idle. the cable doesnt weigh much, and it is not really visable....
