  • Shout out to Deals Gap/Dragon riders

A buddy and I are going to be riding the Dragon on Friday and Saturday. If anyone lives in the area I have a 2003 yellow TLR and my friend will be riding his 919. We will be staying at Pumpkin Center Campground. Free BBQ at the campground Saturday just off 129 being hosted by the campground. If anyone lives in that area..... LETS RIDE!!!

If you get a chance, keep going past the end of the dragon on 129 towards robinsville. Stop at Wheelers, great guy got me back on the road after this. He rides a Tillis too

Its fun, you won't need anything but second gear on the dragon for the most part. Maybe 3rd here and there.
2000 TLS, bahama blue with guard rail mods, ProTek rearsets, Yosh Slipons, PCIII

2001 DRZ 400E M4 full system, Nstyle graphics, 320mm front rotor/17inch spoked rims on the way. Damn shipping

I had planned to be there this weekend but now I have other commitments. A few of my friends are still going though. Ride safe and be sure to take some pics.

Yeah, I have not been in a couple of years. I rode my R1 a couple years ago on the dragon and it was awesome. Had to change my drawers after going into a corner too hot on the Cherahola (sp?) Skyway. For those who have never been or heard, 318 curves in 11 miles. Check out the website www.tailofthedragon.com . I am really looking forward to using the torque on my tiller exiting corners. I'm stoked!!!

I might be up there early Sat AM. Usually, Sun is my day. Make sure you get to ride the Cherohala Skyway. Other things you need to know are as follows: This is the prime leaf watcher weekend of the season and those people don't have a care in the world; it is hunting season and the hunter's don't care for the bike riders; and there will be leaves in the road, most likely wet. Ride the Gap early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Ask the rider's at the Overlook and at the store about the presence of the law. Be careful and don't ride over your head. Finally, make sure you have good tires and brakes. You'll need them.

Yeah, leaf watchers are a pain. Have to head back to New Orleans Sunday. May try to make a short run before packing up. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you Saturday. I'm guessing there will be an above average amount of law enforcement due to all the leaf watchers but maybe Friday won't be so bad... Thanks for the heads up....
