Power To Weight Ratios
While I am waiting to ride my new bike I was just playing around with some numbers. The fastest performance bike on the market that also is light is the GSXR 1000. It has a power to weight ratio of 2.86 pounds per horsepower. (430lbs wet / 150rwhp) A stock TLR has a ratio of 4.1lbs per hp. (500lbs wet/ 120rwhp) My bike with the stock motor with bored injectors big airbox and full exhaust should have a ratio of 2.76 lbs per hp.(360lbs wet/130 rwhp) Wow it should run with the GSXR with just the stock motor! WIth the good motor that drops to 2.4lbs per hp. Not to mention stoping and turning right inside even a 600. This is going to be fun.Art/WyTags: None -

Arrrg that's great Art. My TL is down to 439 wet with about 130 to the back tire. I just got a track bike.. 2002 954RR that we have lightened up to about 360 dry or roughly 415-420 wet that has about 138 stock to the back tire and 145 with a pipe/PC3R so that should be fun. We are also seriously thinking about turboing the 954 to the tune of a very mild 200hp to the back tire with only 4-6psi along with producing turbo kits for various bikes. Keep us posted on your progress. MitchComment

Hey SV996R, I've got a brand new in the box BMC filter for your 954RR if you are interested. The only problem is that I couldn't ship it for 1-2 weeks or so.- If you find this site useful kick us a few bucks. Tip cup

Here's some weights. (thanks to Doug)
TLR with Yosh system and Penske, after 16 miles on a full tank it weighed 484 pounds.
TLR current weight with all the undetail mods, same amount of gas, and PVM Y-Spokes was 460 pounds.
Stock TLS weighed around 485 wet!
TLS with Penske, Yosh full system weighed 474 pounds wet it also was after 16 miles on a full tank."I spent most of my money on Scotch, women and cigarettes. The rest I just wasted"Comment

If memory serves, the TL engine alone weighs about 165 pounds."The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man." - George Bernard ShawComment
