  • silver wheels, powdercoat or paint?

shop put a nice gouge in the wheel mounting my pirelli, goes to the metal and i want to repair it to the best of my ability, sure looks like paint to me but i thought these were all powder coated, anyone got the lowdown on the silver factory wheel finish?

Make the shop who did it take care of it. They are responsible for their work. If they scratched your wheel, they should fix it or replace it. They are liable, not you.

Exactly....tell them to fix it. Any damage they do they are liable for. I wouldnt pay a cent for the repair, they should have taking more care when mounting it! I was in the tire biz for awhile and have seen customers rims damaged before. Any time it has happened we paid for the replacement or the repair. 9 times out of 10 we had to replace it cause it gouged the rim, there is really no arguement they can have....they break it, they fix it!

        doh

I'd probably make them pay for replacement. You break it, you buy it.
        I know nothing about bikes.

, but you might have a problem now that it has already left the shop. Did you bring it to an employee's attention while you were still there, because if not, they will not compensate for anything once it leaves the shop.

yeah, im not gonna ask them to fix it, im using it as a bargining chip for some race plastics, i can live with the gouges, but if its paint...i will attempt the fix, if its powdercoat...i cant fix it and the plastics will be that much cheaper for me.
