  • Does custom paint job make you wonder if they wrecked it?

I'm considering eventually painting my tiller, and I was just wondering what everybody elses thoughts were on this subject. Part of me doesn't care what others think (potential buyers), because I like to think that I'll keep the tiller for a long long time, but a little voice inside of me keeps saying, "...but what if you ever have to sell it?"

Yes, don't paint it. It'll detract from the value.

        That's a tough one...

I'd think that quality of paint job would have an effect on a prospective buyers opinion... Be up front to that buyer about why you painted it.....

Though I've bought painted bikes before with no issues.

I wouldn't worry about it in the long run though...

        Paint the fooker...

The TLR resale is for shit anyway. Paint it, and keep it forever

Good point about TL resale.. If the buyer is a schrew then are they the type of person who will pay when they say they will? Will they abuse the bike and call you and rag yer ass about the repairs of condition of the bike when they bought it?

Im thinking of doing a Silver paint job with the RED BULL logos... will look kinda like a can of REDBULL.(not literally of course but you get the picture)

Kinda sweet in my opinion cause I drink them daily, the red charging bulls are sweet, and may even have a bearing on my success at work.. dunno.. dont care... some may think is stupid or gay but I like the idea, so F*ck Em...

Trust me, it won't be pink...and one of my best friends is a body/paint guy, so it'll be cheap.

I'm split between either the MV Agusta Senna paint scheme (black w/ red) or the '00 black TLR scheme.

If I can find somebody to powdercoat my wheels cheaply enough, I'll probably go that route. (Previous owner had them chromed...not polished, but chromed )

                          Here's the look:

I am usually a little hesitant about custom paint jobs. I guess I have either seen too many bad ones, or just feel they are hiding something. I have seen some dandy's though (2nv's comes to mind)...but I find that the custom ones I have seen have either used cheap paint or something, 'cause the finish just isn't as good as the original.
