I feel your pain... no easy way to do it except prop it up and try and siphon it out.

Better yet, pick up one of those $2 siphon deals they sell at most hardware stores.

        Sucking gas...well...sucks.

You could set it in the driveway and throw a match in it.

I wouldn't use a vacuum for gas. You never know when those motors will throw a spark or something. Although watching SD re-enter the atmosphere would be quite a site

You're still killing brain cells. Huffing gas sucks. I got a handy dandy hand-pump siphon device with a propane heater. It's great for jobs like this.

Just get a bit of pipe and syphon out as much as you can. You should be able to get almost all of it out. Then sit it in a nice well ventilated area for a day or so with the top open and the last little bit will evaporate.

Otherwise you could just take out the fuel pump from the bottom and replace the gasket while you have the tank off, this would also make it dead easy to get ALL of the gas out of the tank as there would be a giant hole in the bottom of it

I wouldn't believe that your re-using your old fuel pump, so remove it and then let the rest flow out. Or you could suck it out.

To ovoid getting gas in your mouth, you could get a tube and punch a hole in it. Cover the hole with your hand, then open it as the gas reaches the hole----->clean mouth.

You could also use a turkey baster for the last little bit, assuming you can outrun the wife
