  • 520 Steel Sprockets??

    I hate wasting anymore $$ on Vortex's and I want to get the most out of this EK Chain.. Any recomendations on 520 NON ALUMINUM Sprockets I may go back to my 530 after this next one..

    I haven't seen any steel 520 sprockets.
    If you stick with aluminum, make sure and get the hard anodized

          IIRC, there's a company that makes sprockets that has an aluminum carrier but steel teeth for better wear. i'll have to dig through another board to find the link to it.

            I think the 97-00 GSXR 600 is the same as the TLR.

              whats the difference between 520 and 530?and why?

                520 is thinner than 530, there for it decreases weight. this means less spinning mass, decreasing the inertia of the sprockets. bottom line, its suppose to help you move faster. if i screwed this up will someone please correct it for me.

                  You got it, acceleration is helped by less inertia, also there is less gyroscopic forces with less rotating mass, which helps with turning the bike in.

                  Can anyone honestly tell the difference :dunno Rossi might and it might even show up in his laptimes, but you or I :dunno

                      some people stick with the 530 because you get a little better chain life out of the chain over the 520 chain.
