  • 2001 TLS question.....

For USA models (California more specifically).

Was blue the only color for that year?

I thought it was before I purchased my TLS, but my TLS is red.

I know mine is an '01 (stamp on frame say 04/01), but I'm suspecting many parts were replaced at one point.

I'm still trying to figure out my fuel pump leakage issue and am now wondering if there is enough of a difference in the fuel tanks that a gasket for an '01 would not work on another year fuel tank...

    I'm very

If there is a difference in fuel tanks, does anyone know how to identify that

well if it is originally from cali, the tank is smaller by a gallon. but the pump and stuff should be the same
i thought blue was the only 01 color

I have been suspecting I didn't get a straight story from the seller.....

Well, hopefully I can get this leak issue resolved....

I don't think anyone has had to replace their fuel pump to stop it leaking.

I'm pretty sure the gasket was redesigned and the one gasket fits all, it's thicker now. Have you seen the tightening sequence image posted here somewhere?

The torque method and amount is VERY critical for the f/p gasket. Also, the surface must be 100% clean and smooth. The new gasket you get from me should do the trick for you.

i would use some RTV copper on the gasket too. that stuff works great

OK, well I'm glad they're all the same, basically. That's be an uber-pain in the azz to have to figure out what year goes with what gasket....

Yup, i saw the bolt pattern, in fact I printed it out last week!
