Please Read....just A Refresher

Just a bit of a refresher guys. Try and remember that gratuitous photos of your bike, children, wives, etc etc etc belong in the PICTURES section of this site. This forum is for general chat about motorcycles. We try to move these posts when we see them, but it would help us a lot if you put them in the proper place to start with.

I am not saying that one small pic of your bike or track day or whatever is not allowed here, just use common sense.

Dammit Dave, I was just about to pull a Doug on ya and whore some pics of the sexy new Hammerit TLR (busa-style) bodywork we secretly developed.

We were just about to put it on the market, but Oh well, I guess you guys will never get to see it.

My 02, I like em here I barely read the other sections.. one BIG reason I come here cause its so active.... Keep the pics commin.. just post pics attached in the title. having them in the pic section sucks..

dsly1, up in the top right corner is a button for viewing the new and also the active topics. It doesn't discriminate between the forums, so you can see everything that get posted, including when someone has posted pic's.

Thanks for pointing out the features of the board Burncycle.

dsly1, this was not really up for discussion, but thank you for your input non the less. The forum that we have in place for pictures is there for a reason. New threads get bumped to the second or even third page very quickly when "everything" gets dropped into this General Discussion forum. That is the reason for the other forums, so that new threads can be seen easily.

Just so everyone knows, I think you do anyway, but we have no hard and fast rules here on this board at all. We expect our members to use basic common sense when posting, that is all.

As some have noticed, a long time member of all the TL boards, TLRDoug has left us. The reason why is because he refused to post smaller pics, and when confronted about it he decided he would rather not spend time here than shrink his pics down to 800x600.

Just think of others who use this site, some have dial-up, some view at work or with kids, some only get by once every few days.

TLRDoug is gone ? Over what ? Thats not good. I do understand format issues, but he hosts his posted pics himself on his own server. I don't know if you have data transfer limits on this board that costs you more (if so it is understandable that you need limits), however to have a member like TLRDoug leave over something like this seems a bit harsh.

Thanks for providing a wonderful discussion board like TL Planet, but I am greatly disheartined that TLRDoug has left over this matter. Purhaps a reevaluation of the situation on the admins' part might yeild a solution that would once again include TLRDoug into the TL Planet fold (Common ya big crazies, just hug and make up). Nobody is indespensible, but TLRDoug added a lot of fun to this board, and is one of the reasons I followed him and others from another board to post here.

I dont think the Admins banned him. He just left, no one said he had to leave.

That is 100% correct Tiller2nv.

Just so that everyone knows, Doug left of his own valition. He was ASKED to resize his pics, not told. I will miss Doug as much as the rest of you. He is a wealth of knowledge on the TLR/S and a good person.

Please understand when I say we have no hard and fast rules here, it means we have no hard and fast rules here, JUST USE COMMON SENSE.

No, I understood that fact, but there was a series of events that lead up to his choosing to leave. Not pointing fingers, but there is always a cause and effect behind everything that happens in the universe.
