  • Just bought Tiller2NV's motor

Well, I have been taking my motor apart about once a week trying to seal up the dayum oil leak.

I've had enough, and tonight I bought Tiller2NV's motor out of the bike he was parting out.

It's going to be such a friggin' relief. I swear, I could not park my bike in public after riding it, because it would smoke like it was on fire (because leaning the bike over made all of the leaking oil run right onto the exhaust!)

YAHOO, I'm going to be riding again soon! I can't wait.

I can't help thinking that's one expensive oil leak.

Yeah, an expensive oil leak alright.

Problem is, that the gasket surface of the left side engine case was damaged in the previous owner's first -- and last -- ride. He endo'ed the bike, and in its girations, punched
a hole in the lower engine case, plus scraping up the gasket surface underneath the main engine side cover.

I had the bike apart so many times it had come down to either getting a new engine case, splitting mine open and swapping the guts, or getting a new motor. I advertised on this site for a coupla weeks for a new case, and couldn't find one ... so here we are.

At least I'm getting the motor from someone I trust and not a complete stranger at a parts yard.

Eeww no thanks, not keen for an engine with a weak case, unless it's cheap. Then I'd make a go kart out of it and see if it can be flipped again.

Keen for Test Pilot duties, Steve?

                        TLR engine..??

I have a '99 TLR engine that I just replaced because one of the water jackets on the right side of the engine froze on my ass over the winter in my garage...Who new it got that cold here....Maybe cause just had distilled water for the track days...Anyways, I will post it in the parts forsale threads....

So what do you want for it? I may be interested.

                            ANd Steve,
out of curiousity, what trucking company did you find to ship the motor? I just sold the engine out of my YZF and I'm in a similar situation with Forwar Air not having a hub. Thanks dude.
