Out of control idle...
My TLS idle is out of control. For example today I pulled into a parking spot and shut off the motor. About 2 seconds later I fired it back up to move it to a better spot and the darn thing started idling at 2k rpm. I blipped the throttle and it started idling at 4k rpm! This isn't an isolated instance, what do you guys think?Tags: None -
Vacuum leak on one of the lines somewhere
or
Siezed fast idle cable (common problem)
or
does moving the bars from lock to lock alter the speed too? What happens if you force the throttle back to idle, the bikes have a push pull cable set-up, one cable might be tight, if you force the grip back to the idle postition and it idles ok, I'd be looking for a partially seized throttle cable that the spring return can't over come."I spent most of my money on Scotch, women and cigarettes. The rest I just wasted" -

Just get some light machine oil into it and work the cable back and forth for a while, it should come good if it's just a bit of a seize.
Check the cable to make sure it hasn't been crushed or kinked anywhere.
Good luck with it."I spent most of my money on Scotch, women and cigarettes. The rest I just wasted"Comment
